2024-2025 preschool application process!
Louisa County Public Schools is proud to offer free preschool at all four of our elementary schools in order to provide kindergarten readiness skills to eligible children with the greatest needs. Children who will be four-years-old by September 30, 2024 and who live in the school's attendance zone may apply for preschool. Eligibility requirements can be found below.
We encourage you to have all requested paperwork submitted as soon as possible!
2024 - 2025 Pre-K Timeline
LCPS and MACAA Pre-K Application Window: January 22nd - March 18th

Preschool Screening and Application Day: March 19th at the Metal Gym from 9 AM - 7 PM
Notification of Acceptance or Placement on the Waitlist: June 2024
Preschool Confirmation or Declining Attendance: July 2024

Call 540-603-9290 during weekdays between 8:30 - 3:30 PM to complete the application over the phone.

W-2
Pay stub
Letter from employer stating wages and the number of hours worked per week.
Income Tax Return
If not employed (one of the following)
SSI
TANF
SNAP benefits
Child Support or Alimony documentation
Eligibility
Resident of Louisa County
Four-Years Old (by September 30 of 2024-2025 school year)
Family income at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines,
Homelessness, or
Student's parents or guardians are school dropouts, or
Family income is above 200% but at or below 350% of federal poverty guidelines in the case of students with special needs or disabilities
