Heather Spaid - director of elementary education

Ms. Spaid serves as the Director of Elementary Education for Louisa County Public Schools and is charged with overseeing the school division's Preschool program. If you have any questions regarding eligibility, the preschool program, or the curriculum please do not hesitate to contact her office.

My name is Michelle McLeod and I am a preschool teacher at Jouett Elementary School. I began teaching at Jouett Elementary School in 1999 and have had the privilege of teaching first grade, kindergarten, and preschool. I am a Louisa County resident and the mom of two amazing boys!  JES's preschool is a wonderful place where children grow and learn. I love that I am in a place where I can help children do this!

Kim Fleming - thomas jefferson elementary school

Mrs. Kim Fleming has been teaching elementary students for 27 years. She has taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grade. Mrs. Fleming received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Alabama and her Master’s degree from Radford University in early childhood education. She is a firm believer in a “hands on” approach to learning and she loves to sing and dance to help children learn new concepts!

Allison Hardy graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Linguistics, and a Master of Teaching with an endorsement in English as a second language. She has served as a first-grade teacher for the majority of her 9 years in education. She is passionate about learning and providing children with intentional, developmentally appropriate experiences. 

stephanie zelaski - trevilians elementary school


Stephanie Zelaski has been teaching in Louisa for 23 years! She is originally from Pennsylvania, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Edinboro University. Mrs. Zelaski has taught at Trevilians Elementary for her entire career. She has taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. Mrs. Zelaski has been teaching preschool for the last seven years. She is a firm believer in learning through play!
