2025-2026 preschool application process!
Louisa County Public Schools is proud to offer free preschool at all four of our elementary schools in order to provide kindergarten readiness skills to eligible children with the greatest needs. Children who will be four-years-old by September 30, 2025 and who live in the school's attendance zone may apply for preschool. Eligibility requirements can be found below.
We encourage you to have all requested paperwork submitted as soon as possible!

Preschool Screening and Application Day: March 27th at the Metal Gym from 9 AM - 7 PM
Notification of Acceptance or Placement on the Waitlist: June 2025
Preschool Confirmation or Declining Attendance: July 2025

Letter from employer stating wages and the number of hours worked per week.
Income Tax Return
If not employed (one of the following)
SSI
TANF
SNAP benefits
Child Support or Alimony documentation
Eligibility
Resident of Louisa County
Four-Years Old (by September 30 of 2025-2026 school year)
Family income at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines,
Homelessness, or
Student's parents or guardians are school dropouts, or
Family income is above 200% but at or below 350% of federal poverty guidelines in the case of students with special needs or disabilities
